Examples of companies that used Enterprise Applications successfully to support their business strategy and business model!!!
Hello,
Everyone and welcome back to this weeks blog.
This week
I’m going to give you a few examples of companies that used Enterprise Systems
successfully to support their business strategy and business model.
Enterprise
systems are large-scale software packages that can track and control all the
operations of large companies. These systems are used as a central command hub
to help automate the business and make decision making easier as all
departments are connected. The Enterprise system manages all the difference
relationships throughout the organisation and connects them through the Centralised
Database.
There are
many companies that produce and provide different types of this Information
System and when they are applied properly can be very powerful tool in a
company. A few examples of companies that used Enterprise Systems successfully
to support their business strategy and business model are:
1. Starbucks
Starbucks uses
Oracle ERP which is a cloud-based software system that automates back their
business operations. Oracle ERP allows Starbucks to
view all their business areas on one screen and includes identifying information. Customer
Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Supply
Chain Management (SCM) operations are all supported by Oracle E-Business. It displays revenue analytics and
provides quick access to:
·
Revenue
Information
·
Expense

·

Oracle ERP
allows Starbucks not only celebrate coffee and its rich tradition around coffee
but also allows it’s business to stay connected worldwide.
Please watch
this video below which shows Starbucks and Oracles journey together:
Cadbury was
on a fast track to success but had trouble fulfilling its manufacturing and
distribution. So Cadbury brought in SAP to address these issues. Among other
significant changes brought about by the ERP adoption, multi-node resource
management was extended throughout the supply chain and the present warehousing
and distribution processes were completely redesigned.
Benefits of ERP System specific to Cadbury’s:
·
The introduction of ERP at Cadbury changed warehouse management and gave
branch offices and depots structure.
·
It resolved all the problems, increased efficiency, and directed rapid
expansion.
·
The best-in-class vendors and their proactive decision-making
capabilities expedited the process and reduced the possibility of problems
during the initial deployment stage.
Despite the
lengthy Enterprise Application process, SAP efficiently addressed the manufacturing
and distribution problems and helped cut down Cadbury’s costs.
Please watch the video below that details the benefits of SAP to Cadburys:
3. Walmart
In 2018, Walmart
signed a five-year deal with Microsoft Azure, a platform that supports several
ERP systems. Expectations for the Microsoft Azure partnership include the
following:
·
Integration with developing blockchain-based solutions.
·
E-commerce opportunities that are more diverse and efficient.
·
Existing ERP programs can be plugged into the Microsoft Azure
platform.
·
Plans to develop a cloud-based enterprise system that will serve as the
foundation for managing the company’s resources.
·
Automated warehousing capabilities have a wider range of
applications.
·
Artificial intelligence is being used to manage supplier
relationships.
Walmart's
current ERP system gives it a technological advantage over competitors by
increasing the efficiency of supply chain management and fostering stronger
supplier integration and collaboration. Walmart uses the ERP system to increase
the effectiveness of its global corporate management.
Please watch
the video below that outlines Walmart’s decision to choose Microsoft Azure:
